Thomas Eggerer

 Thomas Eggerer was Chinati’s artist in residence in November–December 2014. He was born in Munich and lives and works in New York. Eggerer is a painter (he also makes drawings and collages) whose subjects often include figures (behaving socially) and fragments of architecture (serving formally) that are situated within fields of abstracted, expressive, and saturated color. Eggerer has been exhibiting his work internationally for twenty years, and was a former member of the New York-based collective Group Material. He also teaches at Bard College.
