2025 Member Edition
Katharina Grosse
Untitled, 2025
Offset print on archival paper
Edition of 50 + 5APs
The 2025 Membership
Edition is by Katharina Grosse—a
1999 Chinati Artist in Residence
internationally recognized for her
site-specific work sprayed directly
onto architecture, interiors, and landscapes.
Approaching painting as an experience
in immersive subjectivity, Grosse
uses a spray gun, distancing the artistic
act from the hand and stylizing
gesture as a propulsive mark. During
her 1999 residency at the museum,
Grosse employed this technique to
color the interior of the Locker Plant
exhibition space in vibrant, cloudlike
forms and mists of color.
Recently, Grosse has exhibited at
Carriageworks, Sydney; the National
Gallery, Prague; and Gagosian,
Britannia Street; as well as at Art Basel
2025, where Grosse painted the
public square Messeplatz, the largest
urban installation of her career.
Grosse’s work can be found in the
collections of the Centre Pompidou,
Paris; the Kunsthaus, Zurich; the Museum
of Modern Art, New York; as
well as other institutions.
