Chinati Weekend To Be Held Online
October 9–11, 2020
Chinati Foundation will host this year’s Chinati Weekend and Made in Marfa events entirely online. This will be the most accessible Chinati Weekend to date.

Everyone is invited to Chinati Weekend 2019, Friday – Sunday, October 11 – 13. Over the course of the weekend, we will celebrate the opening of a year-long exhibition of rarely exhibited plywood wall works by Donald Judd from Chinati’s collection, a portfolio of prints by Barnett Newman from the collection, and a new installation of paintings and prints by John Wesley in the Wesley gallery, also from Chinati’s collection

Special exhibitions at this year’s Chinati Weekend—Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 13—will feature rarely seen works from the museum’s permanent collection by Donald Judd, Barnett Newman, and John Wesley.

Chinati Weekend: Friday–Sunday, October 5–7, 2018
Everyone is invited to Chinati Weekend 2018, Friday – Sunday, October 5 – 7. This year, we’re proud to announce that the great songwriter and musician Rosanne Cash will perform a free concert in downtown Marfa on Saturday night. Acclaimed playwright Richard Maxwell will present a performance work during the weekend as a culmination of his summer residency at Chinati. And we will continue to celebrate the extraordinary wall painting by Bridget Riley, encompassing the entirety of the special exhibition gallery, that was inaugurated last year.

Chinati Weekend 2017: Made in Marfa is Friday, October 6
Made in Marfa, an annual citywide showcase of local, creative talent, will take place on Friday, October 6, 2017, as part of Chinati Weekend. Organized by the Chinati Foundation, Made in Marfa brings together a wide range of venues, each presenting individual events at locations throughout Marfa. Artists, shops, galleries, and other businesses will participate with open studios, live music, food and drinks, and exhibition openings. The event begins at 5:00 PM.
Chinati Weekend 2017: Talks and Film
Please join us for Chinati Weekend, Friday, October 6 – Sunday, October 8, 2017. The museum will host a film and talks over the weekend, open to the public and free of charge.

Highlights will include the opening of a new wall painting by Bridget Riley in the museum’s special exhibition building and a Sunday performance by Solange at Donald Judd's 15 untitled works in concrete. There will be open viewing of the permanent collection throughout the weekend and all programs are free of charge.
Chinati Weekend 2016: Musical Performance by Arto Lindsay
The Chinati Foundation is pleased to announce a free performance by musician Arto Lindsay as part of this year’s annual Chinati Weekend celebration. The event takes place at 9:30pm Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Saint George Hall, 113 East El Paso Street. The event is free and open to the public.
