Grassland Bird Field Day

The Chinati Foundation is pleased to host Sul Ross State University’s Borderlands Research Institute for a Grassland Bird Field Day on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

This free workshop includes three speakers and a hands-on field activity. Participants will hear a lecture on grassland bird research and conservation, as well as gain experience in mist netting and bird banding.

Grassland bird populations are declining faster than any other group of birds. In collaboration with national and international partners, BRI is studying these birds to find out the reasons for their declines and develop management plans. All are welcome to attend this event to learn more about this diverse group of birds!

The Grassland Bird Field Day will take place on December 1st from 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM in Chianti’s art lab. Limited enrollment, registration begins November 15th. To register, please contact education@chinati.org or call 432.729.4745.
