This program considers the role of the curatorial and community-building in making cultural institutions more diverse and inclusive. Participants modeled the topic with short slide-presentations of their work, followed by an open Q&A. Hosted during Chinati Weekend 2020, the talk also anticipates future programming in conjunction with a major refurbishment of Dan Flavin’s untitled (Marfa project), which was publicly inaugurated 20 years prior.

Lynne Cooke is the Senior Curator, Special Projects in Modern Art, at the National Gallery, Washington, DC; from 1991-2008 she was the curator at Dia Art Foundation. Sarah Workneh is Co-Director of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
