A painter based in Los Angeles, Michael Williams will be in residence at Chinati during the months of September and October. As part of this year’s Chinati Weekend, Williams will host an open studio at the Locker Plant on Friday, October 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Williams’s recent solo exhibitions include the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, PA (2017) and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montreal, Montreal, Canada (2015), and he has exhibited his work in numerous galleries internationally. Group shows include “High Anxiety: New Acquisitions,” Rubell Family Collection, Miami, FL (2016); “Artists and Poets,” secession, Vienna (2015); “The Forever Now: Contemporary Painting in an Atemporal World,” the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2014); “Comic Future,” Ballroom Marfa, Marfa, TX (2013), traveled to the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, OH (2014).
