New Open Viewing Hours at Chinati



Beginning Wednesday, January 1, 2019 the Chinati Foundation will offer new hours for self-guided open viewing of several different works in the permanent collection. The new viewing schedule follows below.

Donald Judd, 15 untitled works in concrete, 1980–1984
(free admission)

Visitors may walk the kilometer-long outdoor path and view Judd’s 15 works in concrete, free of charge, Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Please check in at the visitor services center before visiting these works.

Robert Irwin, untitled (dawn to dusk), 2016
($10 general admission)

Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk), on the site of the former army hospital, may be viewed Friday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Please purchase tickets at the Chinati visitor services center.

Donald Judd, 100 untitled works in mill aluminum, 1982–1986
($10 general admission)

Donald Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum, located in the artillery sheds of what was formerly Fort D.A. Russell, are open for self-guided viewing Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please purchase tickets at the visitor services center.

Dan Flavin, untitled (Marfa project), 1996
($10 general admission)

Dan Flavin’s site-specific work spanning six buildings on Chinati’s main grounds is available for self-guided viewing Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased at the visitor services center.

Tickets for self-guided viewing of the Donald Judd and Robert Irwin works are $10 Adults, $5 students. The John Chamberlain Building may be visited free of charge. Reservations for self-guided viewing are not necessary.

The schedule for full collection and selections tours at the museum will remain the same.
