Chinati is excited to partner once again with Ballroom Marfa and Mexican Summer for Marfa Myths. This year, electronic musician and sound artist, Tim Hecker & The Konoyo Ensemble will perform in the Arena on Sunday, April 28 at 1pm, doors open at 12:30pm. The performance will fuse Hecker’s signature sound with an eclectic arrangement of traditional Japanese instruments.
About Tim Hecker
Tim Hecker has remained a questing and unclassifiable force in explorative ambient music. His 15-year career of intersecting noise, dissonance, and melody with digital and organic sources has produced a hybrid aesthetic of electronic abstraction and psychedelic American minimalism. In addition to releasing nine full-length albums, Hecker has also extended his talents to film and contemporary dance scoring, as well as art installations.
Chinati’s educational and public programming is supported with generous grants from the Texas Commission on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Brown Foundation, the Cowles Charitable Trust, the George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation, the Hearst Foundations, the Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation, the Permian Basin Area Foundation, the Warren Skaaren Trust, the Susan Vaughan Foundation, and the City of Marfa.
