Introduction to Indigo and Shibori-November 10, 2018

The Chinati Foundation is pleased to host Nashville-based teaching artist Aaron Sanders Head for a shibori workshop November 10, 2018. In this one-day workshop, students will learn basics of shibori resist dyeing, with a concentration on folded, tied, and clamped resist, and will learn to dye natural fiber goods in a vat of plant-derived indigo dye. One scarf-sized piece of linen and a yard of cotton muslin will be provided, and students are encouraged to bring their own materials to dye.

This free workshop begins at 9:00 am and ends around 2:00 pm. Enrollment is limited and lunch is provided. Registration opens October 25, 9 am.
Please email apowers@chinati.org or call 432.729.4330 for registration or details.
