DIRECTIONS
Getting to Marfa by Car From the West: Take Interstate 10 East to Van Horn. Exit onto Highway 90 East. Travel 74 miles into Marfa. In Marfa, turn right at the blinking red light onto highway 67 South. Travel 1/2 mile, turn right at the Chinati Foundation sign. Follow this road, it will veer to the left and up a hill; the foundation is atop the hill. Driving time: approximately 3 hours from El Paso, Texas. Please note that El Paso is in Mountain Time Zone, Marfa in Central Time Zone. From the North: From Midland/Odessa, take Interstate 20 West to Pecos. In Pecos, turn left onto Highway 17 South. Take Highway 17 South through Balmorrhea, Ft. Davis and into Marfa. Once in Marfa, follow the signs for Highway 17/67 South. Cross Route 90 at the stop light and continue straight for 1/2 mile. Turn right at the Chinati Foundation sign. Follow this road, it will veer to the left and up a hill; the foundation is atop the hill. Driving time: approximately 3 hours from Midland/Odessa. From the South: Take Highway 67 North from Presidio to Marfa. As you enter Marfa, you will see the Chinati Foundation sign on your left. Turn left. Follow this road, it will veer to the left and up a hill; the foundation is atop the hill. Driving time: approximately 1 hour from Presidio, Texas; 3 hours from Big Bend National Park. Getting to Marfa by Air or Rail The Marfa airport is located three miles north of town and can service most small jets and jet-prop aircraft. Amtrak offers regular rail service to Alpine, which is approximately 26 miles east of Marfa.
