Application Open: Grasslands Restoration Practicum

Want to learn about West Texas ecology and connect to land in meaningful ways? Apply to Chinati’s Grasslands Restoration Practicum.

The intensive, five-day, paid program introduces participants to the conservation of the Chihuahuan Desert’s grassland ecosystem. Participants will gain skills through expert-led tours and hands-on fieldwork, and explore pathways to professions in rangeland ecology and land management.

The week-long workshop runs April 27–May 1, 2026. Participants receive $15 an hour, up to 40 hours. Lunch, snacks, and transportation from Chinati to site visits will be provided.
