Chinati hosts public programs throughout the year including lectures, performances, exhibition openings, and other special events that continue the museum's tradition of bringing contemporary artists to Marfa and sharing the collection and exhibitions with the public.

Bridget Riley has created a new wall painting for the Chinati Foundation’s special exhibition building. The work was inaugurated as part of the October 2017 Chinati Weekend and will remain on view through 2019.

The Chinati Foundation invites everyone to a special early morning viewing of Donald Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum and 15 untitled works in concrete as well as Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00am.

Chinati is excited to partner once again with Ballroom Marfa and Mexican Summer for Marfa Myths. This year, electronic musician and sound artist, Tim Hecker & The Konoyo Ensemble will perform in the Arena on Saturday, April 27 at 12pm. The performance will fuse Hecker’s signature sound with an eclectic arrangement of traditional Japanese instruments.
