Jessica Wozny, installation view, the Locker Plant, 2014

Jessica Wozny

Jessica Wozny concluded her residency with an exhibition at the Locker Plant in August 2014.

Jessica Wozny was born in Germany and lives and works in Oaxaca, Mexico. She makes paintings, drawings, and sculpture, often made of common or cheap materials including wire, colorful plastics, and fuzzy woven textiles. Her work is informed by a jaunty and unpredictable sense of pure abstraction. Wozny has exhibited internationally and throughout Mexico, most recently as part of Paréntesis: 17 años de trabajo, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca (MaCo), and NOW. Transformation. Spaces at Casa de Lago in Mexico City. She is the cofounder, with Luis Hampshire, of Ediciones Plan B, a curatorial collective based in Oaxaca, Mexico.
