Uri Aran was born in Israel and lives and works in New York. He shared a program of his films during his residency, including Two Things About Suffering, commissioned by the Walker Art Center in 2015. In addition to making sculpture, paintings, and works on paper, Aran continued to develop the film with actors and musicians during his residency in Marfa. Aran graduated from Columbia University in 2007, and has exhibited at Kölnischer Kunstverein, Germany (2016); South London Gallery (2013); and Kunsthalle Zürich (2013). His work was included in the Liverpool Biennial (2014); the Whitney Biennial, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2014); the 55th Venice Biennale, Venice (2013); and Question the Wall Itself at the Walker Art Center (2016).
