Free Art Classes for Area Students
All students ages Preschool through Grade 8 from the tri-county area are invited to the Chinati Foundation during their spring break, March 12 – 16, 2012. This year’s classes will usher in the spring season with hands-on activities and lots of creative fun exploring the life cycle of plants in our local desert environment. Students will identify and draw plants and grasses on the museum grounds, learn about seed germination by planting their own flower and vegetable starts, grow moss terrariums, and make clay dishes and plates based on their favorite foods.
All activities will take place at the museum and are free for students residing in Brewster, Jeff Davis, and Presidio Counties. Class sections and times are as follows:
Grades 5 – 8
Monday, Wednesday, Friday (March 12, 14 and 16), 3 – 5:00 PM
Grades 2 – 4
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (March 12, 14, and 16), 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Kindergarten and 1st Grade
Tuesday and Thursday (March 13 and 15), 1 – 2:00 PM
Preschool (ages 3 & 4) with an adult companion
Tuesday & Thursday (March 13 and 15), 10 – 11:00 AM
