Join artist Nick Terry for an afternoon of paint-making at Chinati. This free, introductory workshop will provide participants with the skills, materials, and knowledge to make water-based paints. Through hands-on projects, participants will gain an understanding of this versatile medium’s potential. 

All materials provided. The program will include a short break for lunch; BYO sack lunch suggested.

Nick Terry has lived and worked in Marfa, Texas since 2003. Recent exhibitions include solo presentations at Bartha Contemporary London (2025), 5. Point Gallery, Santa Fe (2025), Marfa Book Co., Marfa (2025), Bartha Contemporary Basel (2024), Gensler Architecture, New York (2014, 2018) and There Is No Such Thing As Monochrome, BWA Modern Art, Tarnow, Poland (2017). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including at Danese Gallery, New York (2015), Charlotte Jackson Gallery, Santa Fe (2015), Marfa Book Co., Marfa (2018), and TOTAH Gallery, New York (2020). In 2016, he participated in Oficina de Arte, an artist residency program in Mexico City. A publication of his recent work, Tape Paintings, was produced by Ken Botnick and includes an essay by art historian Matthew Simms. Work from that series was exhibited in September 2019 at the 300 S. Kelly gallery space in Marfa.
