November 14–15, 2025 | Art in Context: Part II
This November 14–15, the Chinati Foundation and Rice University School of Architecture will host Part II of the Art in Context: Art, Architecture, and the Middle Landscape symposium in Houston.
Part II expands on the conversations that began in Marfa last April. Through panels and discussions, participants will examine the tensions between environmental conservation and the preservation of cultural artifacts, proposing future strategies for sites of ecological vulnerability and historical significance.
Part II of the symposium will coincide with a related exhibition, Art in Context, presented as part of Exhibitions at Rice, on view in the Hines Family Gallery and the Casbarian-Appel Gallery within William T. Cannady Hall at the Rice School of Architecture from November 7, 2025, through February 7, 2026.
The full schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
