Paint Making-January 18, 2020

­­­The Chinati Foundation is pleased to host Marfa artist Nick Terry for a free paint-making workshop from 9am to 2pm on Saturday, January 18. This introductory workshop provides participants with the skills, materials and knowledge to make water-based paints. They’ll also gain an understanding of this versatile and timeless media. 

A light breakfast snack and lunch will be provided.

Nick Terry (b. 1966, Paris, France) lives and works in Marfa, Texas. Recent exhibitions include two solo shows at Gensler Architecture, New York (2014, 2018) and There Is No Such Thing As Monochrome, BWA Modern Art, Tarnów, Poland (2017). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including at Danese Gallery, New York (2015), Charlotte Jackson Gallery, Santa Fe, (2015) and the Marfa Book Co., Marfa (2018). In 2016, he participated in Oficina de Arte, an artist residency program in Mexico City. A publication of his recent work, Tape Paintings, was produced by Ken Botnick and includes an essay by art historian Matthew Simms. Work from that series was exhibited in September 2019 at the 300 S. Kelly gallery space in Marfa. Nick will participate in a group show in March 2020 at TOTAH Gallery in New York.
