Chinati Hosts Art 21 Preview

In partnership with Art21 as part of its Access ’12 initiative, Chinati and the Marfa Book Company present a preview screening in advance of the sixth season of the Peabody Award-Winning PBS documentary series Art in the Twenty-First Century. The screening will take place on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 7 PM at the Marfa Book Company and feature episode 4 of the new season. Entitled Balance, the hour-long episode profiles artists Rackstraw Downes, Robert Mangold, and Sarah Sze. The event is free and open to the public.

Art 21 Access ’12 is an international screening initiative created to increase knowledge of contemporary art through hundreds of public screenings and events that tailor the ideas presented in the series to the interests and concerns of local audiences. Through in-depth profiles and interviews, the four-part series reveals the inspiration, vision, and techniques behind the creative works of some of today’s most thought-provoking artists.
