
Sasha Pirker, Film Screenings in Marfa
Sasha Pirker is a filmmaker from Vienna, who will be in residence at the Chinati Foundation during the months of September and October 2013. She will screen the following selection of her films during Chinati Weekend at the Crowley Theater Highland Annex on Friday, October 11 at midnight, and on Saturday, October 12 at noon.

Pirker will also exhibit work (Unnnamed) at the Locker Plant over the course of the weekend. Pirker has been hosting weekly film screenings as a kind of cinematique during her residency.

Pirker’s calm, cinematic ruminations have focused on architectural subjects such as modernist buildings by John Lautner and Rudolf Schindler. She has shown her work at the Venice Film Festival, the Centre George Pompidou, the Anthology Film Archives, New York, among other international venues. Since 2006, Pirker has also taught at the Video and video installation department of the University of Fine Arts, Vienna, Austria.
