Benefit Dinner
Everyone is invited to Chinati Weekend 2019, Friday – Sunday, October 11 – 13. Over the course of the weekend, we will celebrate the opening of a year-long exhibition of rarely exhibited plywood wall works by Donald Judd from Chinati’s collection, a portfolio of prints by Barnett Newman from the collection, and a new installation of paintings and prints by John Wesley in the Wesley gallery, also from Chinati’s collection. We will host scholarly talks by Donna De Salvo, Deputy Director for International Initiatives and Senior Curator at the Whitney, and Linda Norden, curator, writer, and professor of art history, theory, and criticism. In addition, we will present a musical performance by Nancy Whang and Gavin Rayna Russom of LCD Soundsystem. As always, there will be open viewing of the permanent collection and the annual Made in Marfa event. All exhibitions, collection viewing, talks and music performances are free of charge.
On Saturday night, a dinner to benefit Chinati will be held in the Arena. The benefit dinner is Chinati’s largest fundraising event of the year and helps support not only Chinati Weekend exhibitions and programs but also the museum’s general operations year-round. Tickets for the fundraiser are $750 ($600 for members and area residents) and seating is limited. To purchase tickets for the benefit dinner, please click here.
We invite you to become a sponsor of Chinati Weekend 2019 and join us on Friday evening for a special cocktail reception to kick off the weekend festivities. Chinati Weekend sponsors will receive tickets to this special event and to the benefit dinner on Saturday night. To become a sponsor, please click here.
