Adult Shibori Workshop
Adults are invited to participate in a one-day workshop on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 1 – 5:00 PM.
Participants will be introduced to the process of shibori, a Japanese term for resist dyeing. The class will experiment different design techniques such as stitching, twisting, binding and clamping of the fabric to create intricate patterns. Fiber-reactive dyes will also be explored; students will learn the scientific process behind color binding in textiles to produce striking textiles of their own.
The class will take place on the Chinati grounds in the ArtLab. No previous experience is necessary, and all materials are included in the class cost of $15.
