2014 Winter Art Classes
All students ages 4 – 13 are invited to create crystal snowflake mobiles, igloos, giant snow people and all things arctic at the Chinati Foundation’s free annual winter art classes, January 2 – 5, 2014.
We’ll use Ilya Kabakov’s School #6 as inspiration for our floor-to-ceiling winter wonderland installation. All classes take place on the Chinati Foundation grounds and we’ll have a party at the end of the week to share our work with family and friends.
Classes are by age division: 4 – 5 year olds meet from 10:30 – noon; 6 – 8 year olds meet from 1 – 2:30 p.m., followed by the 9 – 13 year olds from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Please send your children to class in mess-friendly clothes and closed toe shoes.
Due to limited enrollment pre registration is encouraged. Winter art class registration forms will be sent home with area students, additional forms may be found at the Chinati Foundation front office, Marfa Public Library, or online.
Everyone’s invited to view the students’ winter wonderland at a public reception on Sunday, January 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the museum.
