Yuh-Shioh Wong, Exhibition and Reception at the Locker Plant

Yuh-Shioh Wong is a San Francisco-based artist in Residence at Chinati. She was born in Taiwan, studied at Harvard University and Hunter College, and has exhibited her drawings, sculpture, and paintings across the US. Working in Marfa since early March, Yuh-Shioh is continuing a body of recent colorful abstractions that conjure immersive atmospheres of being in nature. Fecund blobs, stains, and marks evoke the essence of natural forms, plant life, and landscapes without actually depicting them. There will be an exhibition and reception for the artist on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Locker Plant.
