New Publication—Chinati: The Vision of Donald Judd, Second Edition

A comprehensive history of the museum and catalogue of the collection, this book is the only volume dedicated to the Chinati Foundation, and is a primary resource for scholars, students, and visitors to the museum.

The second edition features a chapter on Robert Irwin’s permanent installation untitled (dawn to dusk), which was added to the collection in 2016. Artist’s bibliographies, special exhibitions, artists in residence, and other program activities are updated to reflect the nearly ten years between the book’s original publication and the second edition.

Originally published in 2010, Chinati: The Vision of Donald Judd was edited by Marianne Stockebrand, who is the principle author. Chinati Director Jenny Moore has contributed the preface to this edition which is co-published by the Chinati Foundation, Yale University Press, and Hatje Cantz.

The second edition is published in time to coincide with Judd, the Donald Judd retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, to which Chinati is a lender.
