The Chinati Foundation invites the public to a performance by Sounds Modern of Fort Worth on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 8:00 pm at the Crowley Theater in Marfa. The event is part of the museum’s ongoing Chinati Presents series and is free and open to the public.

Chinati Presents: World Monuments Watch Day

As part of its ongoing Chinati Presents series, the Chinati Foundation will host a World Monuments Fund Watch Day on Saturday, August 2, 2014 to raise awareness of the museum’s preservation efforts.

Chinati Free Summer Art Classes 2014

Starting with simple shapes, students will engage and improve their understanding of form as they create complex and simple stencils. Using both the negative and the cut out forms, students will make large-scale paintings, cyanotypes, and sculpture. Classes begin July 7 – 11 for students Pre-K (ages 4 and up) through grade 8.

Marfa Kids Shake It Up this Summer at Chinati

The Chinati Foundation, Marfa ISD and the Tierra Grande Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists Program will team up this summer for an exciting and free series of programs for children.

Andy Coolquitt: Multi Marfa Room

The community is invited to an opening by Chinati Artist in Residence Andy Coolquitt. The opening begins at 8:00 PM on May 24 at the Locker Plant in downtown Marfa.

Chinati Co-Presents Zoe Leonard with Cinemarfa and Book Signing at Marfa Book Company

As part of CineMarfa’s 2014 festival, Chinati will co-present a talk with artist Zoe Leonard and a screening of James Benning’s RR. The museum will also co-host a book signing at Marfa Book Company to celebrate the publication of Leonard’s new book Available Light.

Young Artists of Marfa and Fort Davis Present Seeing Light, Pinhole Photography Exhibition at Chinati

Seeing Light, a group exhibition of pinhole photographs by sixty-six Marfa and Ft. Davis junior high and high school art students, opens to the public as part of Chinati and Judd Foundation’s Community Day celebration.

Chinati Presents: The XX

The Chinati Foundation is pleased to announce a free concert by the English band the xx on Monday, April 7. Show begins at 8:00 p.m. and will take place in the Arena on the museum grounds. This performance is part of the museum’s ongoing Chinati Presents series.

The community is invited to visit the studio of artist in residence Nikolas Gambaroff Saturday, February 22 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM. Please come by to meet Nikolas and see new work created during his time in Marfa.
