Chinati Special Edition: Mark Grotjahn, Untitled (Snake), 2019
As a special benefit edition for the Chinati Foundation, Mark Grotjahn has created a work modeled from the head of a rattlesnake and cast in sterling silver.

Grassland Bird Field Day-December 1, 2018
This free workshop includes three speakers and a hands-on field activity. Participants will hear a lecture on grassland bird research and conservation, as well as gain experience in mist netting and bird banding.
Introduction to Indigo and Shibori-November 10, 2018
The Chinati Foundation is pleased to host Nashville-based teaching artist Aaron Sanders Head for a shibori workshop November 10, 2018. In this one-day workshop, students will learn basics of shibori resist dyeing, with a concentration on folded, tied, and clamped resist, and will learn to dye natural fiber goods in a vat of plant-derived indigo dye.

Chinati Summer Shake-Up 2018 Video Release
This year's Summer Shake Up was a spectacular success, with students exploring light, color systems and film. Students pre-K through 8th grade were encouraged to sink deep into Chinati's works by Dan Flavin and Robert Irwin, moving deliberately and thoughtfully through these installations.
Chinati Presents Richard Maxwell's Ode to the Man Who Kneels
On Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5, 2018, the Chinati Foundation will present two performances of current artist in residence Richard Maxwell's musical theater work Ode to the Man Who Kneels at 8:30 PM on the main museum grounds.
Chinati Weekend: Friday–Sunday, October 5–7, 2018
Everyone is invited to Chinati Weekend 2018, Friday – Sunday, October 5 – 7. This year, we’re proud to announce that the great songwriter and musician Rosanne Cash will perform a free concert in downtown Marfa on Saturday night. Acclaimed playwright Richard Maxwell will present a performance work during the weekend as a culmination of his summer residency at Chinati. And we will continue to celebrate the extraordinary wall painting by Bridget Riley, encompassing the entirety of the special exhibition gallery, that was inaugurated last year.

Artist in Residence Open Studio: Yevgeniya Baras: The Day is Long
The Chinati Foundation artist-in-residence, Yevgeniya Baras will host an open studio and exhibition, The Day is Long, on July 5 and July 6, 2018. Join us from 6 - 8pm on Thursday evening and from 11am - 3pm on Friday at the Locker Plant on East Oak Street. On view will be work that Baras has made during her stay in Marfa in May and June. Everyone is invited.
