Filmmaker and Chinati Artist in Residence Sasha Pirker will screen a selection of her films during Chinati Weekend at the Crowley Theater Highland Annex on Friday, October 11 at midnight, and on Saturday, October 12 at noon. Pirker will also show new work at the Locker Plant over the course of the weekend.

The Chinati Foundation is proud to announce that it has been selected for inclusion on the 2014 WORLD MONUMENTS WATCH list.

Open viewing of Donald Judd’s 100 works in mill aluminum and 15 works in concrete at daybreak. General admission is $10, free for members and area residents.

There will be an opening reception for Chinati’s artist in residence Jered Sprecher at the Locker Plant on Thursday, August 22, 2013. Sprecher will also give an artist"s talk at the Marfa Book Company Annex on Wednesday, August 21, at 6 PM.

Chinati will host its final monthly garden social of the summer season on Sunday, August 4 from 6 – 8:00 PM. Marfa chef Cat Cox will team with Chinati to create a “farm to table” menu, with appetizers and drinks made with produce sourced from the Chinati garden and other local farms.

Everyone is invited to a talk by Caitlin Murray on artist Carl Andre and his written work on July 27. The museum"s permanent exhibition of Andre"s poems will be available for viewing from 7-8:00 PM. Murray"s talk will begin in the exhibition space at 8:00 PM.

Chinati invites area students to our annual summer art classes. Classes for students ages 5 – 8 will be held Monday through Friday, July 15 – 19, 10 AM – 12 PM. Classes for students ages 9 – 13 will be held Monday through Friday, July 22 – 26, 10 AM – 12 PM.

There will be an opening reception for Chinati"s artist in residence Hernan Bas at the Locker Plant on Thursday, June 27th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. The Marfa community will have the chance to see new paintings by Bas.

Chinati will offer a Hatha yoga class led by Lauren Meader, RYT certified instructor, on Tuesdays from 6 – 7:00 PM, May 7 – 28, 2013.

Chinati is proud to participate in Blue Star Museums 2013. Chinati invites all active military personnel and their families to visit the museum free of charge between May 22 and September 1, 2013.

Print, Wash, Repeat, a group exhibition of silkscreen prints by eighteen Marfa High School art students, opens Sunday, April 28 as part of Chinati and Judd Foundation’s Community Day celebration. Everyone is invited.
