The Chinati Foundation will present a workshop performance of Jen Rosenblit’s Clap Hands at the Arena on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 8:00 PM. The event is free to the public.

Unhurried Phantom: Film Studies Workshop for Adults-April 2 & 3, 2016

Chinati will host a two-day film studies workshop for adults on April 2 and 3. The program is an investigation into the ideas of filmmaker and critic Nathaniel Dorsky.

Sylvie Auvray: Reception at the Chamberlain Building

Everyone is invited to view new work by artist Sylvie Auvray, who’s been in residence at Chinati since February. Auvray’s reception is at the Chamberlain Building in downtown Marfa on Saturday, March 26th, from 2 to 4pm.

Charlotte Posenenske adult workshop-March 19th, 2016

Chinati is hosting an alteration of Charlotte Posenenske’s DW series, the installation of large tubular constructions of corrugated cardboard in the temporary exhibition space. The event begins March 19 at 9:30am with a talk by Chinati director Jenny Moore, and reassemblage times follow throughout the day. The workshop is free though pre-registration is recommended. Children aged 12–17 are welcome to join with a parent or guardian.

A Preview of the Robert Irwin Site

Chinati will host coffee and a tour of the Robert Irwin project construction site on Sunday morning, March 13, at 11:00 am - a reward for supporters of its related Kickstarter campaign.

Calling young artists and dancers! All pre-k through 8th grade students are invited to cast plaster and concrete, sculpt clay, and construct wood and wire sculptures during this year’s 3-D Summer Shake-Up! Partnering with Marfa ISD, Chinati’s annual summer art classes begin June 6 and run through June 30.

Experience Donald Judd’s two permanent installations, 100 works in mill aluminum and 15 outdoor works in concrete, at dusk on Saturday, February 13. Free of charge to museum members and tri-county residents.

4H screen printing art project

Beginning mid February students will learn basic screen printing skills. Participants of last year’s art project will broaden their skill through more advanced techniques and a focus on composition and content. Class will meet four times times for approximately 2-3 hours per class.

Chinati Presents: Emily Sunblad and Matt Sweeney

The Chinati Foundation is pleased to present a recital with Emily Sundblad and Matt Sweeney on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 8:00 PM at the Crowley Theatre in downtown Marfa. The event is part of our ongoing Chinati Presents programming and is free to everyone.

Chinati Presents: Troublemakers

The Chinati Foundation and CineMarfa will co-host a screening of director James Crump's 2016 documentary Troublemakers on Friday, January 22. Troublemakers documents the renegade history of land art in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Director James Crump will be in attendance for the screening.
